Dorset Relief Members Unsocial Hours Concerns

We are getting reports from our Dorset relief members who are not being paid their unsocial hours payments at the correct rate. The Trust have harmonised the unsocial hours payments to that of other parts of the Trust and written to Dorset relief staff to let them know. This will mean that the extra unsocial hours payments will be moving to arrears. From January 2011 you will be paid at the rate in the letter which is based on the station rota with the rest (hours actually worked) paid in the next pay packet.

I must emphasise that if you qualify for 25% unsocial hours payments then you WILL receive 25% unsocial hours payments. Anything less than this and the Trust is in breach of your terms and conditions.  If you want to learn how this is calculated then please see agenda for change handbook (Annex E and F) on the NHS employers website:http://www.nhsemployers.org/SiteCollectionDocuments/AfC_tc_of_service_handbook_fb.pdf

If you haven't been receiving this, and can provide evidence (timesheet), then you need to approach your OLM and they will get you the back pay.

With any new system there are difficulties with the implementation, please remember that our payroll will help you in any way they can, but please be understanding and patient with them.
