Unison Membership and Retirement

If you are a member of Unison and decide the time is ripe for retirement you may wish to consider one of the following options which are open to you.

Members who take retirement and then return to employment either in a part time capacity or alternative role will receive a new ESR pay number (the old 8 figure identification).

If this happens you will automatically cease to be a member of Unison as Shared Services and the Trust will consider you to be a new member of staff. To continue to be a member of Unison you would need to complete a new application form to enable the appropriate subs to be taken from you.

However should the member enter into full retirement then they have the option of becoming a 'Retired Member of Unison' and continue receiving membership benefits.

To become a retired member, they should complete an application form for retired membership and forward it together with a one off payment of £15 to the South Western Ambulance Branch of Unison.
