The
highly successful Local Consultative Committee (LCC) scheme has seen its first
meeting In Cornwall.
Unison
representatives met with senior managers from the local area in Cornwall on
Wednesday 10th March. LCC stands for
Local Consultative Committee—The
LCC groups were the direct result of suggestions made by Unison members. LCC
Meetings previously in Dorset and Somerset have been lively, positive and very
productive.
Issues raised at the recent
Cornwall LCC included:
Response Times: Some people feel pressured by response time
targets, and speed and safety have been matters for concern.
Annual Leave - Members should not be penalised if they have
applied for annual leave and are then told that it cannot be 'fitted in' so they
will lose it! People will have their annual leave booked for them if they do
not book it within time restraints but if someone is off sick and then cannot
physically get the time in then 37.5 hours can be carried over and the rest
negotiated.
Relief Hours: Looking at Zeroing the hours as from April
1st and looking at a reference period depending on Station rota's. This has
been agreed in principle but allocation of relief duties (within reason) must be
adhered to.
Sickness / TIA (Temporary Injury Assistance) will be
investigated to see what problems exist.
