The HPC have launched a three month consultation to
invite views on a proposed fees increase for 2009. So that we can formulate a
branch view on this, we need to hear what our members think.
The HPC have proposed moderate increases to all
registration and scrutiny fees. As part of the proposed increases,
renewal fees are currently £72 and will increase to £76.
Details of the increases are set out in the HPC
consultation document
The consultation clearly sets out why we are proposing an
increase and how the money will be spent.
The HPC state that they have worked hard to ensure that
the proposed fee increases are fair and in line with inflation.
The consultation will run until 14 July 2008. If the
proposals are adopted the changes to the fees would be effective from 1 April
2009. Existing registrants would pay the new renewal fee when their profession
next renews its registration.
