PAY UPDATE FROM UNISON NATIONAL OFFICE
We have received a number of enquiries about when
the pay award will be implemented, so this is to bring you up to date with
the current position.
Not all unions have yet reported back on their
internal member consultation and the offer has yet to be formally ratified
by the Pay Negotiating Council and the Staff Council. However, a large
enough yes vote majority has now been reached from unions that wish to
accept the offer.
It is planned that a Pay Circular will be issued in
England by NHS Employers on the 16th or 17th October. Contact has been made
with the main payroll providers and this date should be in good time to
ensure that the new rates are implemented in November.
We have also sought assurances that the back pay,
where owed, will be paid in December.
It appears that this is entirely in the hands of
local NHS organisations and their ability to get information from their
payroll departments to providers in good time for the calculations to be
made and paid in December.
We will issue advice on this to branches when we
send them the pay circular in mid October.
